Thanksgiving Potluck Sign-Up Sheet (Free & Printable)

A potluck only works if the table is balanced — one turkey, not four; enough sides, not three desserts and no rolls. A Thanksgiving potluck sign-up sheet keeps everyone's contribution visible in one place so the meal comes together instead of clustering around duplicates. Here's how to run one, plus what to put on it.

Assign by Course

Break the sheet into the courses that matter: the main (turkey or a vegetarian main), the sides (stuffing, potatoes, casseroles, vegetables, cranberry sauce, bread), the desserts (pies, especially), the drinks (both Thanksgiving cocktails and nonalcoholic Thanksgiving drinks), and the appetizers. As host, take the turkey and the drinks — the things that are hardest to transport and time — and let guests fill the rest.

What to Track

Each row needs a name, the dish they're bringing, the number of servings, and a note for dietary labels (vegan, gluten-free, nut-free) so guests with needs can find what's safe. Add a 'serving dish needed' column if you're short on platters, and a 'needs oven/stove' column so you know what's arriving to be heated — your cooking schedule depends on it.

Share It Digitally Too

A shared online sign-up (a Google sheet or a free sign-up tool) lets out-of-town guests claim their dish before they arrive and prevents two people from showing up with the same green bean casserole. Keep the printable version for the kitchen and the digital one for the group chat. The best Friendsgiving recipes are the ones someone actually signed up to bring.
